Compete without making reading a performance.

Eligibility and profiles

You must meet the minimum age shown in the app and accept the current rules. Choose a non-identifying alias, a country, and optionally a city from Leafline’s curated list. Leafline does not request GPS. One person should use one competition identity.

Boards and seasons

Eligible verified minutes can appear on overall, country, city, and one selected genre board. Seasons use documented UTC boundaries while the app shows local dates. City boards require at least 20 active eligible participants; smaller cohorts roll up to country and never reveal a small-city rank.

How minutes become eligible

• Only visible, foreground Focus reading can accrue page-reading League minutes.
• Five minutes without meaningful reader activity pauses future eligible credit; idle time is not backfilled.
• Text-to-speech/listening time stays separate from page-reading standings at launch.
• Risk-triggered presence checks are accessible, frequency-capped, and never block the book.
• Offline or uncertain submissions remain pending or personal-only until reconciliation.

Fairness review

Server time, replay protection, rate limits, impossible-duration checks, app-integrity signals, and aggregate patterns help assess sessions. No single device verdict or failed prompt automatically bans a reader. Public ranks can be frozen during incidents or shadow testing.

Appeals

You can appeal a personal-only or adjusted session. A reviewer considers the bounded session record and reason. Appeals affect competitive credit only. Do not send book text or private reading details. Target response time during closed beta is seven days.

Conduct

No automation, coordinated replay, emulator farms, identity cycling, tampering, harassment, or misleading aliases. There are no cash prizes and Plus does not improve rank. Enforcement may hide standings, hold sessions, or suspend the competition identity after review.
